In the printing industry for 28 years, Vijayshri Packaging in Indore started as a commercial printer for wedding cards. The company closed its commercial printing business in 2001 and entered the field of corrugated packaging. In 2016, the company moved to a new plant and currently supplies folding cartons, flat-plate cartons and lined cartons. Its customers are all over the country, mainly in Madhya Pradesh.

"For packaging companies, you need to be geographically convenient for your customers to visit. Pricing is the decisive factor, but service time is more important than price. We provide prototyping services and a series of cartons under the same umbrella. Recently, we have One of our fast-moving consumer goods customers built a retail display stand using corrugated cardboard. These special services help improve interaction with customers," said Ayush Jain, director of Vijayshri Packaging. The company focuses on cardboard solutions and is eager to expand its customer base.

Speaking of restrictions in the industry, Jain said that since the implementation of the goods and services tax, these restrictions have been reduced. "In the era of goods and services tax, it has become easier to increase our interstate business. Since you are taxing the country to play to your strengths, this is a boon for us. With the influx of e-commerce , The logistics industry has received sufficient funds to become more reliable and skilled. Products will increase costs, and we or our customers will eventually bear these costs, but the convenience of doing business will definitely improve,” Jain explained.

Vijayshri is using three 40-inch 6-color printing presses from Komori Motorsport to extend delivery time. One of the printing presses also has an intermediate layer and UV at the end of the printing press. There are 20 x 28 inch 5-color printing presses with coaters, which are mainly used for short-term operations. In addition to the printing machine, the company also has a roll-to-sheet cutting machine, a roll-to-sheet laminating machine, a metpet laminating machine, four Brausse automatic coating die-cutting machines, an automatic hot stamping machine from Yawa and a UV coating machine from Autoprint. Layer machine. Vijayshri's QC laboratory is used to test finished packaging materials.

The company has an automatic two-layer corrugated production line with double-sided printing. Among its two corrugated paper laminators, one is used for 3-layer corrugated cardboard and the other is used for 5-layer corrugated cardboard. All these machines are made in China, and the 5-layer flute laminator was purchased from Suba Solutions. It also has a window patcher suitable for wide window applications. One Heiber+Schröder lined carton pasting machine and three folder pasting machines, while another new folder pasting machine from the Indore manufacturer will be installed in August. All Vijayshri folder gluers are from Chinese or Indian manufacturers.

Each month, the company uses cardboard and unbleached liners to produce nearly 900 metric tons of packaging materials. "Our production capacity is about 2,000 metric tons per month," Jain said, adding, "Many of our businesses use metpet with hot foil stamping. Nearly 90% of our business comes from the value-added part. We are not a company based on quantity. Oriented company. However, over the years, the single carton and litho paper laminated carton business has proven to be a promising business. The industry has price competition and service competition. Service competition is good for the industry, while price competition is not so good."

Vijayshri is very strict on its price profit margin and is unlikely to give in in this regard. It is also very particular about the quality of the product. "If I use a 5mm or 7mm brass block for bronzing, it means I am using Rs. 8,000. Rs. 8,000 is worth 10,000 pieces of consumables for the job. Now, if my competitor uses Rs. 1,500 or Rs. 2000, it is difficult for me to match the price. We focus on selling products rather than commodities," Jain added.

Vijayshri uses Seigwerk and DIC inks on its printing press. In the 2018-19 fiscal year, the company achieved 21% growth and plans to achieve at least 25% growth this year. It will expand production capacity by adding more printing presses and die cutting machines. All Vijayshri's printing presses are second-hand machines imported by itself.
